Creating a Community for Collaboration to End Violence

Network to Eliminate Violence in Relationships (NEVR) is a BC charity uniting various sectors to prevent relationship violence through working together, bringing awareness, and sharing resources.

Goal

As NEVR gains charity status, it needs a separate website to meet specific regulatory and operational requirements. Dr. Gurm, the founder of NEVR, asks me to create a website that serves as a one-stop hub for understanding and combating relationship violence.

The key goals are to centralize resources, foster connections, and promote involvement with NEVR’s mission. At the same time, we want to ensure the site is easy to navigate for everyone, including individuals and service providers.

Result

The new website serves as a one-stop hub, providing quick access to resources like a support directory, online courses, community tools, and publications.

With integrated learning management system (LMS) and filterable sections, navigating a large amount of information is easy for different audiences. Whether you’re a community partner wanting to learn about NEVR’s initiatives, interested in collaborative studies, or a frontline service provider seeking resources, the site guides you to the right section effortlessly.

It also highlights Indigenous connections, features an event calendar, and showcases community partners. These elements make the site easier to use, encourage people to get involved, and help communities work together to prevent relationship violence.
