Last week, my client encountered a problem on their website that redirected all their main menu pages to the home page. This happened last month to one page and eventually found a redirection was added for that particular page. I removed it and that solved the issue. This time, it was happening to all the menu items.
Normally, I would call to find out if the client something before the issue arose, but because it was late when I received the email, so I followed these steps.
How I resolved it in 20 mins
- Deactivate the Redirection plugin to see if it is the same issue as last time. It isn’t.
- Deactivate all plugins and reactivate them one by one until the issue re-appears. In this case, it is the Polylang plugin.
- Visit the plugin page on WordPress to see if anyone else reported this. It was reported, and the author posted a link to the latest stable version.
- Reinstall the plugin, and reactivate it. (Replace the plugin files via FTP. You could also do this via the Dashboard.)
